FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCH 31, 1997
EUTHANISTS WILL HONOR HEAVEN'S GATE
The Church of Euthanasia will honor the deceased members of Heaven's
Gate in a ceremony to be held Sunday, April 13 at 3:00pm on the Boston
Common. The heroic web designers will be made honorary members of the
Church of Euthanasia, and after a service led by Rev. Chris Korda, 39
earthworms will be released from containers into the grass. The male
Heaven's Gate members will receive special honors for undergoing
surgical castration in their efforts to avoid procreation.
Euthanists advocate restoring balance between Humans and the remaining
species on Earth through voluntary population reduction, and actively
support the right-to-die, pro-abortion, animal rights and sexual
pleasure movements. Their DADA-inspired tactics and vociferous
opposition to the Christian pro-fertility cults led to spectacular
confrontations in front of abortion clinics last year.
The Church of Euthanasia was founded in 1992 after Rev. Korda channeled
the alien message "SAVE THE PLANET--KILL YOURSELF." Like Heaven's Gate,
the Church has an international following, and disseminates its point of
view through the Internet, as well as paid advertising, musical
releases, and its journal, "Snuff It."
Rev. Chris Korda will also appear on the web-exploring PBS TV show
"Internet Cafe" during the week following April 18. Please check their
station listing
for the exact date and time.
